1. After you complete your initial questionnaire, a patient coordinator will respond to you via email with additional details regarding the procedure you have in mind. She will help you with any questions that you have and schedule your in-office consultation. (Virtual may be available if you are coming from out of town.)
2. At the consultation, you will have the opportunity to discuss your surgical options with Dr. Denk. He will help to come up with the best plan to achieve your desired results. If you are planning on an augmentation, you will try on implants at this visit. You will then meet with a patient coordinator to discuss pricing and surgical dates.
3. When you are ready to schedule your surgery, 10% of your quoted surgery price is required to book. You can do so at your consultation or within 6 months following your initial consult date.
4. You will have a Pre-Op appointment about 4 weeks prior to surgery. For this appointment, you are encouraged to bring your care person with you. This is an in-office appointment to discuss the procedure at length with Dr. Denk and get all questions answered before surgery. One of our nurses will check your vitals, go over your health history, discuss medications, and talk to you about pre and post op instructions. You WILL be trying on implants for a second time during this appointment. It is recommended that you bring 2-3 different tops with you to try on with your implants and assist with visualization. Your before photos are taken at this visit as well. You will then meet with a patient coordinator to receive and sign paperwork. Final Payment is due at your pre-op appointment!
5. You are encouraged to call or email with any questions that you have in between your pre-op appointment and surgery.
6. Next is your Surgery Day! Cosmetic procedures are done in our facility in one of our two fully-accredited operating rooms. You will come in through the front door and let the front desk know that you are checking in for surgery. One of the nurses will take you to the recovery suite and collect a urine sample. You will meet with Dr. Denk while he marks you for surgery and makes sure that you are all on the same page one last time before your operation. You will also meet with one of our physician anesthesiologists.
7. After surgery you will be taken back to our recovery area. Dr. Denk will call your care person to tell them that all went well and to anticipate picking you up in about an hour. Your breasts will likely be wrapped. Post operative instructions will be thoroughly explained to your care person at pick up. Go home and REST.
8. Dr. Denk will call you and your care person that night to check on you.
9. You will be seen back in the office 24-48 hours following for your first post op appointment. Please note that you will need someone to drive you to your first post op appointment. You may shower 48 hours after surgery.
10. You are now a patient for life! Dr. Denk will want to see you regularly within the first few months after surgery, then again at your 6 month and yearly anniversaries.
What to Expect
There are two different types of implants; Silicone and Saline. Both types of implants are FDA approved, offer a variety of looks, sizes, and placement, and are typically warranted 10 years.
Types of Implants
Silicone (Gel) implants are filled with silicone gel. They are generally classified as feeling soft and most like natural breast tissue. Silicone implants mimic natural breast tissue in looks and movement as well.
Saline implants are filled with saline, a sterile salt water. They feel more firm to the touch than natural breast tissue. Saline implants are typically firmer and more round compared to natural breast tissue.
Implant Placement
Breast implants can be placed either over or under the Pectorialis muscle.
